Hi,
Obviously! Offline marketing is important just like online marketing if you operate an online business…
Although direct mail can end in trash cans just like emails end in spam/junk folders. So the article below helps you understanding the basics of direct mail:

Horaayy..there are 3 comment(s) for me so far ;)
it depends on what niche you are trying to reach and what your budget is.
i sent out some direct mail cards with a magnet attached and it worked well. we sent 3500 pieces out to select zips and select households at $2 each (including the postage, production, etc.) and it was very effective. we had 15 percent of those result in customers at an orthopedic center.

Depending upon what you are trying to do there are two answers:
Yes – it is a proven mechanism for driving cross-sell to existing customers in an amazingly cost effective way. For small volumes, if the price point of your item to sell is high enough (such as a car or mortgage) then it can be used to acquire new customers as well.
No – it is not cost effective if you are a small business trying to acquire new customers and the price point of your item is low. How does Pizza Hut do it? They have huge volumes to lower the price per piece so it makes sense. In this case, use localized marketing such as newspaper or yellow pages.
Hope this helps.
